So I almost forgot to write about my incredible last week in
Chapel Hill. Guess you could say that I was distracted by the beauty of Buenos AiresJ. Anyway, my last week
in Chapel Hill was way too busy and too much fun as well.
Since I’m leaving UNC a week early I had to cram in all of
my assignments that were due the last week into this week, and let’s just say
that wasn’t exactly my idea of a good time. Plus packing and figuring out the
last minute details of my trip. But the best part of this week was hanging out
with my friends. It felt like there was something to do every day and I got a
chance to say goodbye in person to most people
Tues- dinner with Kelly at Elaine’s, a restaurant on
Franklin St. that I’ve wanted to go to for a long time. The food was
DE-LISH-SHUS. Then we headed to the Stop Soldier Suicide happy hour to support
a good cause and hang out with our MBA friends.
Wed- Happy hour with other more experienced (read:
older) MBA students. We talked some job search strategy, mostly just hung out
and got to know each other better.
Thurs- Wynton Marsalis in concert along with Abyssinian, a gospel
choir from NYC. The concert was great, but a little different than what I was
expecting. Wynton was more so part of the band and not a soloist like I
expected. It was still a really good show though, and I’m very grateful to
Naeemah for sharing her tickets with me!
Fri- Hockey game with Brooke. I got to see my first Red
Wings game in person (they played the Carolina Hurricanes in Raleigh). I was
channeling my old college roommate Erin who was/is a HUGE Red Wings fan. Well,
the team put on a show for my first game, I’m sure they knew it was my first
time and they really wanted to impress me. Down by 1 goal with 16 seconds to go
in the 3rd period, the Red Wings scored to force overtime. Then 2-3
minutes into overtime we scored to win the game.
Sat- MBA Hayride social in the boonies- good food
& a nice time in the country, which was followed by an awesome goodbye
party for all of us who are studying abroad at Nora’s house. We had a good mix
of first and second years there and I think everyone had a good time.
Sun- flew to Argentina
So yes, my last week in the states was a whirlwind. And I
wouldn’t have it any other way.

There should be a mention of an Indian lunch in there somewhere ;-)
ReplyDeleteThis blog is a great idea, have fun.
